access with it. So we are looking forward to seeing you at the
meeting. Or if you can't attend, please mail the 2006 payment to Jay Bass

Make check payable to Jay Bass.
2/19/06 - McClure landing zone work day
In order to make our site safer for all pilots,
Mike has gained permission (with MID supervision) to trim some tall trees to
the North of our landing area. These trees can cause wind rotors,
catch a pilot off guard and cause a bad landing. The trees can also
block certain landing approach options.
Steve Bickford will direct the tree altering activities. The trees and
limbs will be cut, dragged to piles and burned. Log sized limbs will
be pulled off to an area where a group can section and deliver them to needy
wood burners.
Those able are being asked to provide chainsaws,
pump up sprayers, shovels, a tractor and most importantly labor for the tree
and chamois removal day. We have been asked by MID to not remove any
Manzanita bushes or other fragile native species. We will have qualified
individuals present to help identify and mark any such areas.
It was mentioned that the club needs to re-clear
the "bail out" zone between Horseshoe Mt. and the LZ. The chamois is getting
tall in that emergency landing area. If the manpower is available, we may
clear that also.
Unless otherwise notified, tree and chamois cutting day will be Sat. Feb.
18th, 2006.

4/22/06 Oceanside Open, Oregon
Please put APRIL 22, 2006 on your calendar, and start spreading the word.
Rumor has it it's going to be soarable at Maxwell Mountain starting at 8:30
that morning...with sunshine and 60 degree temps all day. And if it's
not...if it's high pressured and easterly as it's been occasionally for our
meet, then we're working on having the tug available so you can still tow to
get airborne.
