This photo (left) was taken from the end of the landing zone, looking north toward launch. The glider break-down area is to the right. The L/Z is bordered on both sides by trees, and is located just east of an active archery range. Highway 132 runs east/west at the base of the L/Z, and there is ample room for pilots to fly figure-8's over the highway until the proper altitude for landing is reached. The last 50 to 75 yards of the L/Z is slightly uphill and makes for great landings. |
